The all-new 2015 Ford Edge puts an exciting spin on a familiar vehicle. A completely redesigned exterior is at the forefront of the changes. While it still bears a resemblance to its predecessors, it has a more striking appearance that attracts attention and is headlined by the front grille. Looks don’t always say everything, but the Ford Edge is consistent inside and out, with a look and styling that will keep others on edge.

BLIS with Cross-Traffic Alert

Technology remains at the heart of every new vehicle feature. The Ford Edge has added a flurry of new technological advancements to its arsenal including a Blind Spot Information System (BLIS). This system comes in the form of two rear radar sensors that warn the driver of other vehicles entering your blind spots on either side. While originally purposed for highways and busy roads, the BLIS system can also detect whether vehicles are approaching you on either side while reversing out of a crowded parking area.

Lane Keeping System

Another adaptive feature that keeps your safety in mind is the Lane Keeping System. With two front radar sensors, the Lane Keeping System is able to scan the road ahead of you. As you continue to drive forwards, these sensors pick up the lane dividers and are able to let you know if you are drifting out of your current lane. These lane-drifting alerts come in the form of a vibration through the steering wheel.

Front 180-degree Camera

How often are you frustrated by visually-obstructed corners? Large shrubbery, garbage bins, and other large objects can often get in your way of having a safe, clear view of what around the turn. With the 2015 Ford Edge’s Front 180-degree Camera, you can look around corners and navigate out of a crowded parking spot with ease. All courtesy of a camera tucked in the front grille.

Parallel Parking Sensor

The bigger the vehicle, the larger spot needed to parallel park. It can sometimes be hard gauging if your vehicle can fit within a given area, and it can be even more frustrating when there are other cars waiting behind you. Intuitively, the 2015 Ford Edge has a Parallel Parking Sensor that is able to pick up parking areas that are spacious enough for the Edge. This is done by sensors that measure the distance between parked cars, that then signal the driver when a spot is adequate. When the spot is chosen, the system even assists you in parking, though you are still responsible for shifting, accelerating and braking.
