Local Charities in Kitchener Supporting Families, Safety and Hope

Kitchener-Waterloo is home to many local charities doing important work for children, families, students, patients, women in crisis, and people living with disabilities. If you are looking for a way to give back, there are several organizations in the community where a donation, volunteer shift, or shared message can make a real difference.

We are grateful to be part of a community where people continue to show up for one another. Over the years, we have had the opportunity to support several local organizations that are helping make Kitchener-Waterloo stronger, safer, and more connected.

Waterloo Regional Health Network Foundation

Waterloo Regional Health Network Foundation helps support local hospital care across the region. Its fundraising strengthens programs, equipment, patient spaces, and services that families may rely on during some of life's most important moments.

We were honoured to contribute $40,000 in support of Waterloo Regional Health Network Foundation and its work to help families access compassionate care close to home.

KidsAbility

KidsAbility provides pediatric rehabilitation services for children and youth with developmental, physical, and communication needs. Its programs help children build skills, confidence, independence, and a stronger sense of possibility.

We were proud to contribute $40,000 to KidsAbility in support of its work with children and families across Waterloo Region and Guelph-Wellington.

Community members can donate, volunteer, or explore partnership opportunities through KidsAbility's Ways to Give page.

Food4Kids and Nutrition for Learning

Food access can affect a child's ability to focus, learn, and participate. Food4Kids Waterloo Region provides healthy food packages for children during weekends and school breaks, while Nutrition for Learning supports student nutrition programs in local schools.

To help support local food access, we contributed $40,000 to Food4Kids for weekend and school-break food packages for children in food-insecure homes. We also contributed $10,000 to Nutrition for Learning in support of student nutrition programs throughout the community.

Women's Crisis Services of Waterloo Region

Women's Crisis Services of Waterloo Region supports women and children moving beyond violence through emergency shelter, outreach, education, and transitional housing services. Its work gives families a safer place to turn and a path toward stability.

Our contribution of $10,000 to Women's Crisis Services of Waterloo Region directly helped support women and children seeking safety, support, and hope.

You can donate or volunteer through Women's Crisis Services of Waterloo Region.

Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides

Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides provides trained Dog Guides at no cost to Canadians living with disabilities. These Dog Guides help people navigate daily life with greater independence, confidence, and safety.

We are proud to support the foundation's work and help raise awareness for the difference Dog Guides can make in the lives of Canadians with disabilities.

How You Can Make a Difference

Giving back can look different for everyone. You might make a donation, volunteer your time, attend a fundraiser, organize a workplace drive, or simply share a local charity's message with someone who may want to help. For a full list of the organizations we support visit our Kitchener Ford Cares page.

Every contribution helps these organizations continue their work. We are proud to stand alongside local charities, volunteers, donors, and neighbours who make Kitchener-Waterloo a more caring place to live.
